Updated: Oct 12, 2022

What social media trends are coming in 2023? Is Tiktok the new king of social? Is Twitter still relevant? Here are the 6 social media trends we see coming for 2023.

Video is King

Social Media has evolved from its infancy in the early 2000s. Starting with text and shifting to images, now videos are the wave for the foreseeable future. Social media companies like Instagram and LinkedIn actually are giving a boost to videos or other types of posted media.

Video Marketing in 2023

The most valuable form of video media is media that immediately connects the user to the content. In most cases, a friendly face with provide that connection.

The Value of TikTok

TikTok isn't new. However, the platform is still growing. What is the value of TikTok? TikTok users are currently spending over 800 minutes a month on the platform. A recent survey we conducted of the top brands of Knoxville showed that only about 18% of top companies are on TikTok.

If only 1 in 5 companies are on the platform, then that leaves lots of space to get eyes on your company. Now is the time to get on TikTok and get your growth going. We see more and more companies jumping on the TikTok trend.

Instagram in 2023

Instagram has been a mainstay since the early 2010s for both personal and business accounts. Much like TikTok, Instagram started as a personal tool that molded into something completely new. Instagram in 2023 will shift to similar model of TikTok. Quick, short, fast videos.

Instagram Marketing Knoxville

Instagram almost always falls on the list of top social media apps. Most list the company as the 3rd or 4th most subscribed company. In 2023, TikTok will make a major surge at Instagram with its quick hitter format.

LinkedIn is critical for businesses in 2023

Maybe the most over looked social media platform today is LinkedIn. LinkedIn is trending closer and closer to 1 billion users. With the current labor shortage and change to the culture of the American workplace, LinkedIn has positioned itself well.

LinkedIn can hit both sides of the workforce. It also allows both sides to quickly connect with the other. Businesses like ours can also use LinkedIn as a quick network building social media platform. With currently over 1,000 subscribers, LinkedIn is our most followed account.

Facebook will still be the most used business social media

Facebook isn't going away anytime soon. While Facebook is considered "old" by Gen Z, it is still very effective in the business world. Facebook continues to dominate the preferred method by businesses.

Similar to Instagram, FB will shift more to favor video posts. We don't see it moving as directly to videos as much IG, but definitely a noticeable shift in 2023. While only 18% of the companies we surveyed had TikTok, all of them had Facebook.

Content will still be key for 2023

This trend may never change. More content, the better. Shareable content content is even better. YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook all give a premium to accounts that post regularly. That multiplier grows if you have content that is regularly shared.

If you want quality content, keep trying different things until you find your niche. You don't have to reinvent the wheel either. See what other similar companies are doing and make it your own.
